Ryan Montgomery - HNC 2018/19 and HND 2019/20
For my HNC project I made a short horror film called the night hag and for my HND I was planning on shooting another short film that I had written a script for called The Comfort Zone, which I had planned out and cast before the lockdown hit. Both projects are released under my production banner TwoSixTwelve Productions which has really been my main project the past two years.

I decided to create the production banner to give me an identifiable brand to release my content under. That and I’m hoping I can make a proper company of it so I never have to work for anyone else ever again. The Night Hag was kind of me fulfilling a life-long dream of making a horror film. With my new script for The Comfort Zone I wanted to do something a bit different. It was definitely more to give myself a different challenge. With the night hag I wanted to make people feel uncomfortable creeped out but with The Comfort Zone I wanted to build a relationship between two characters and have a more multi-layered film.
This might sound cheesy but it’s something I’ve been trying to preach and instill in my daughter lately and that you should always shoot for the star’s. That way if you miss you at least land on the moon. If you’re gonna take a media course and film is what you’re interested in, then make your passion project. Making a film is hard work and there is so much work and detail that goes into making it. So, you should really love what you’re making.
